When it comes to a large-chambered autoclave, you essentially have two excellent options and one not-so-excellent option. The two desireable choices both involve autoclaves with chamber dimensions of 15" x 30" — the Pelton & Crane MagnaClave and the Tuttnauer 3870.
The not-so-excellent option comes in when you need a chamber larger than 15" x 30", because beyond that size, the only choice is to move up into the hospital/industrial-class of autoclaves, which require external plumbing, steam-generators, RO water systems, professional installation and plumbing, and price tags in excess of $25,000 (often topping $40,000).
Which is precisely why we would like to help you with a 15" system if we can. And even if you think you might need a hospital/industrial-class system (such as an Amsco or Steris), our discounts actually often make it more cost-effective to acquire two of our Tuttnauer 3870 systems for much less than what you would have to invest in one larger autoclave. And with two 15" autoclaves, you actually end up with a much more flexible work flow, and often much greater capacity, because you are able to stagger loads between the two systems.
The Tuttnauer 3870 Series
Our best-selling large-chambered autoclave is, without question, the 15" x 30" Tuttnauer 3870. Available both as a manual model as well as a fully automatic version with closed-door drying and programmable cycles, the Tuttnauer 3870 is the most affordable solution if you wish to run large batches of instruments or need substantial vertical clearance (e.g., for flasks). We can even provide custom chamber diagrams to help you ensure that you have the room you need.

The Pelton & Crane MagnaClave
Long the standard in large-chambered sterilization, the Pelton & Crane MagnaClave is one of the all-time greats. While a bit more expensive than the Tuttnauer 3870, and lacking some of its more automated functions, the MagnaClave is built to last approximately ... forever. Give or take a year or two.
